Tips to Get Your Home Holiday Ready
Happy December friends! Can you believe the countdown to Christmas has begun?
This is the most wonderful time of the year! I truly love the Christmas season and all the celebrating that it brings! So today I wanted to share my easy tips to get your home Holiday ready!

As the Holidays approach I want to remember what the true meaning of the season is…celebrating the best birthday of all! And that means lots of parties, dinners with friends, and family gatherings. I don’t want to miss out on any time spent with loved ones making memories. So, it’s important to me to have my home ready for the Holiday! I stick with these three tips:
- De-clutter
- Decorate
- Clean
My first tip is to de-clutter one room at a time. Remove all outgrown or unused items and organize what you keep. Have a space for everything. And store those items in reach for easy access. One creative way is to use vintage pieces for storage. Like the cabinet above for DVDs and the basket for throw blankets. We always take our discarded items to the local Goodwill.
De-cluttering creates a space that will help you feel calm and relaxed during the Christmas season.
My second tip to get your home Holiday ready, is to decorate! This is actually my favorite part 🙂 I think it’s important to decorate simply and thoughtfully. Decorate one area at a time. Display collections that have sentimental value. Use your existing everyday decor to add greenery or a Christmas bouquet. Adding fresh or faux greenery and garland gives a perfect touch without being too busy. A single strand of twinkle lights around a mirror or shelf gives that festive glow without being costly. And lastly, I love to use consumables. Candles and fresh fruits make nice Christmas decorations and don’t have to take up storage space when the Holiday is over.
All that decorating makes for a messy house! Flocking and greenery is covering the floor…so now it’s time to CLEAN, which is my final tip! But let’s face it, we want the cleaning to be easy and quick!
