Simple DIY Christmas Gift Ideas

Hi friends! Are you ready for Christmas? Well…it’s approaching fast, so I want to share my simple DIY Christmas gift ideas to help you make everyone on your list smile! Isn’t a homemade gift so heart warming? Just to know someone spent time baking or creating a gift just for you…it’s what the Christmas spirit is all about!

I’m honored to be a part of the BHG Live Better Influencer Network! I love to represent a brand that has quality style at affordable prices. I’ll be compensated for my effort and time creating this blog post…however it’s no additional cost to you, if you choose to shop through the links provided. As always, my opinions are genuinely my own, and I hope you enjoy this post about DIY Christmas gifts!

I had so many homemade gift ideas in my head and couldn’t wait to start creating…so, I took a trip to WALMART to find Better Homes & Garden Products that would enhance my gift presentation. And…products that can be used in several different ways! I decided on apothecary jars, a pitcher and wooden trays, and a glass tree and hurricanes. I also got a rug, towels, pillow and throw blanket… a basket and fruit bowl, and a galvanized wall pocket. I’m always amazed at the beautiful quality and appreciate the affordable prices! Especially at Christmas time, when I need to purchase so many gifts.

I made homemade peanut butter kiss cookies, dried oranges, and peppermint popcorn. I strung together an orange garland and clipped lots of sprigs of rosemary. I gathered fresh pine and frasier fir branches. Then I began to assemble all the gifts.

I used the wooden tray for putting together a sweet charcuterie board…this would be a perfect gift for neighbors or a co-worker. It was so fun to create this! Piling cookies, fruit and candies all over!

This huge glass tree was one of my favorites! When I saw it, I thought how cool it would be full of twinkle lights or a candle…but I wanted to think out-of-the-box! So, I filled it with peppermint popcorn and sealed the bottom with plastic wrap. I believe a gift is all about the presentation! So, I used velvet red ribbon and a sprig of pine to top it off.

The possibilities are endless with this tree! For a gardener…fill it with daffodil bulbs. For a teacher…fill it with stickers. For an artist…fill it with markers. For a baker…fill it with cupcake liners. For a fashionista…fill it with colorful socks. For a busy mom…fill it with bath bombs. I could go on and on!!!

The same goes for this cute birch tree hurricane! A battery operated candle is so pretty inside! However, I wanted to add a special touch…so I added sprigs of rosemary all the way around and wrapped it with twine. Another idea is to make a garland with dried oranges, cranberries, and bay leaves…then place the garland inside the hurricane. It looks so festive! A friend or teacher would appreciate this gift made with love!

Then I used this wooden kitchen bin to corral popcorn bowls, tea towels and microwave popcorn. This would be a thoughtful gift for a family movie night. And the tray can be used for so many things!

Next, I filled this Luster Vase with Hot Chocolate and a tea towel.  So easy! Just wrap with a ribbon, and it goes with any neutral decor!

When I saw this large white pitcher, I wanted to create a pretty Christmas bouquet. I bought a bundle of carnations and added fresh evergreens. This would be a beautiful gift for a secretary! Add a ribbon too! This pitcher can then be useful all year long!

Another idea is to create a tray full of useful kitchen items. I rolled up the Fringed Bath Mat, tea towels, and added dish soap with a dish brush.

The wire fruit bowl can be used for several options! For the baker, I added gingerbread cookie mix, a cookie cutter, tea towel, and an ornament. The red ribbon woven through adds a sweet pop of color! Or, add fresh bread, muffins, or buttermilk biscuits!

And how cute is the Apothecary Jar full of Stovetop Potpourri?? All the ingredients just piled inside makes the prettiest present. Orange peel, whole cloves, rosemary sprigs, cinnamon sticks, cranberries, and pine. To use, you just add water and a teaspoon of vanilla. This makes your home smell like Christmas! It’s absolutely delightful!

For the coziest gift ever, I found this great handled basket and filled it with a Knit Sweater Pillow, Velvet Plush Throw, Smoked Caramel Candle, and some twinkle lights.

I adore this Galvanized Wall Pocket! How cute would this be on a front door? It would even be a great organizer for mail in a mudroom! I wanted to fill it with an evergreen arrangement as a gift for Christmas…and the possibilities are endless!

And lastly, for teacher gifts, these small Popcorn Bowls are perfect! I filled each with peppermint popcorn. I wrapped each with a pretty bow and a peppermint stick. Such a fun gift!

These gifts were so much fun to create! I hope that you’ll take time this season to make something homemade. Your friends and neighbors will be thrilled to receive a special gift you’ve created. You are a blessed fountain of great ideas Becky!! This post should be inside the pages of better homes and gardens magazine! Most magazine diy articles don’t have half of the great ideas you have shared here and I’m always a little let down by them. But your diy gifts are of such great quality and so creative and will surely spread joy. I’ve already made your stovetop pot poured, all packaged and ready to give. I made your dried orange garlands with my 4 and 7 yr old granddaughters and they came out gorgeous ( I tagged you in my insta post) I’ve made the peppermint popcorn gift idea, and I made your galvanized hanger with the fur branches and dried oranges. Girl I have gotten so many wonderful ideas from you and you have made a big difference to me in how I decorate. May you and your family be well and keep spreading that joy around. Thanks soooo much!!! Debby(bambiemeadows)
