How to Create a Cozy Fall Bedroom
Hello friends! I feel like October is a preparing month…Fall is setting in and you can actually sense the Holiday season approaching. So it’s only expected that we begin preparing our homes for guests, parties, and all the get-togethers this time of year brings. In doing so, I want to share how to create a cozy Fall bedroom for your guests (or family) to enjoy!

When creating a cozy bedroom, whether it’s for yourself, your family, or with guests in mind…lighting and storage is important. Another detail that I believe makes a room cozy is incorporating a good mix of rustic with elegance. Some people call it masculine with feminine. Let me share a BEFORE pic with you…so you can see the changes we made:
Did you notice the changes? We got new end tables and lamps, and redesigned our headboard! What a difference!
After my husband built our DIY reclaimed wood headboard about seven years ago…I’ve enjoyed finding pieces that pair well with it’s rustic qualities. When I found these Better Homes & Gardens Granary Modern Farmhouse End Tables in Rustic Gray I knew they would look amazing with the headboard! The weathered wood finish looks like they were made for our room! It’s nice to have side tables for a place to charge your phone and drawers to place belongings. I love the size of the tables, compared to the bed. It makes for easy access to turn off the lamps.
With just simply repositioning the boards, we redesigned the reclaimed wood headboard to give it a more “French Farmhouse” style. I love the reclaimed wood, but really wanted to change it to a romantic, elegant design. I used an inspiration photo, and drew the design on a poster board. I traced it on the wood, and my husband cut it out with a jigsaw…I think we pulled it off! It just took a few hours to finish the headboard refresh.
To contrast with the rustic wood…adding another element of elegance was easy with these beautiful Better Homes & Gardens Capiz Lamps.The Mother of Pearl finish goes well with all the gray, white and silver in our room. The added ambience of the lamps and candles make the room so welcoming. And as another fancy detail, I chose the Better Homes & Gardens White Pleated Table Shades which is one of my favorites in the whole room! It’s sad to say, but we haven’t had new lamps in our room in 13 years! It was definitely time for a refresh!
I love the Better Homes & Gardens Shell Curtain Rod and when I saw the lamps that matched…I had to get them! The beautiful elegant details of all the shells are so pretty in our room!
For more cozy Fall vibes, I placed eucalyptus and tiny white pumpkins in the French lavabo on the wall. Then, I put a few tiny white pumpkins on each end table. I brought in a couple of big white pumpkins for the bench at the end of the bed, too. I like the natural Fall feel that the real pumpkins create.
Lastly, I brought in my favorite Better Homes & Gardens White Pillow and Better Homes & Gardens Grey Pillows from the entryway. They go so well with our bedding. The Better Homes & Gardens LED Flameless Pillar Candles are perfect for the breakfast tray and end tables! I love how they have a remote control to turn on and off with ease. They are nice to use when you want to place a candle on a tray, without creating a fire hazard.
