Merry Christmas to you!! I’m so honored to be participating with the bHOME bloggers for a walk through 3o blogs full of Christmas ideas, decor, and inspiration! At the bottom of this post, you can visit all the participants…AND there is an exciting GIVEAWAY too 🙂
I’d love to tell you that the Christmas season is relaxing and joyous the whole month through…but I’d be lying. I have such good intentions, which I’m sure you do the same. I want to make homemade treats and gifts and sing carols and donate toys. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out the way I envision. So, a few years ago, I decided to say NO to a lot of unnecessary tasks. As a family, we have certain traditions we will honor. Our time together is most important. Not trying to be everywhere and buy everything.
Also, you’ll quickly notice that my Christmas decor is minimal…it’s simple and we like it this way. It’s calming. It feels like Christmas to us. We choose to slow down and enjoy celebrating Jesus’ birthday! The idea of a simple Christmas is dear to my heart, and if you’d like to read more about it, check out my eBook, A Simple Farmhouse Christmas.
So, let’s begin in the master bedroom. Here, I’ve added little boxwood wreaths on our DIY reclaimed wood headboard. You’ll see touches of red on the pillows, and a very special quilt that my Granny made long ago.

I have a confession, this little gift is the only (I repeat, the only) gift that is wrapped. So, please don’t judge 🙂
Here we have the dining room. I went out into the wilderness (it’s actually just some woods out in our pasture) but wilderness does sound more exciting…and I clipped fresh branches of cedar, cypress, and pine. I gathered rosemary and free branches of Frasier fir from the Christmas tree lot. And I added greenery EVERYWHERE 🙂 I just put it right down the middle of the table for a garland, and let it hang over the ends to the floor. I was looking for a dramatic flair 😉
And I’m sorry that I didn’t sweep up all of the little sprigs of green that comes from the wilderness. You can’t do it all 🙂
The gorgeous C glasses are from my husbands’ late uncle. I do love using family heirlooms. The silver was my moms’…Meaningful decor.
Our tree is a live Frasier fir from Home Depot. It is full and smells so so fabulous! There is a hodgepodge of ornaments we’ve collected or made over the years.
Our family room is quite casual, with a little rustic farmhouse 🙂
And on to the kitchen. Greenery in ironstone pitchers and little trees I cut from our garden surround the sink area. I hung three mini grainsack stockings in front of the window. I think it’s my favorite spot I’ve ever hung them.
I made a wreath with rosemary and cedar sprigs to hand on the venthood. And gathered greens for the cutting boards. I’ll do another post about the pretty Christmas punch that you see there on the island…it’s so delicious!
This is our baking station with a garland topper and some greenery with pinecones. The vintage fly catcher is full of water with cranberries and rosemary.
Several years ago, my mom (who passed away in 2009) started a tradition of having a gingerbread party with the kids. Each year, she would gift the kids with a special gingerbread ornament. This year, I decided to use the French bottle drying rack as the gingerbread tree 🙂 We have quite the collection, thanks to my mom. I’m certain she would adore this.
I hope you enjoyed our Christmas tour! Thank you for joining with bHOME and visiting me here today. If you’d like to see our 2014 Christmas Tour GO HERE.

Becky, your home is simply beautiful. I am in love with every room, and the touches of Christmas are perfect. I hear ya, on the slowing down and enjoying the season. For years, I always felt so frantic to get everything done to make it "perfect", and every year, I had feelings of "I'll be glad when it's over". We have slowed down, and simplified everything, so that we can now savor the "reason for the season"….Blessings to you and yours in your beautiful home! Merry Christmas!
P.S….Love your fur baby snoozing on the couch!

Hey, very nice site. I came across this on Google, and I am stoked that I did. I will definitely be coming back here more often. Wish I could add to the conversation and bring a bit more to the table, but am just taking in as much info as I can at the moment. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Becky! I found you on Instagram and absolutely LOVE your home and your photos 🙂 I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing what camera and lens you used to shoot the inside of your home? I'd been practicing my shooting and would love to take photos of my own home and yours are so inspiring! Thanks again! xo
