Antique Armoire in Country Chic Simplicity

Hey there! It’s finally Friday…has it been a long week for you? It has been a long week here as well…the countdown to the last day of school is on! I am so excited to share this painting project with you. DSC_4120 I received a package of paints from Country Chic Paint. I chose the color Simplicity, which is a nice crisp white. I’ve always wanted to paint our armoire, and I finally got brave enough. See, this is a really special piece to me. My mom passed away in 2009, and left the armoire to me. I am certain she would have told me to paint it Smile  DSC_3917 I did a minimal amount of sanding before I began painting, just to remove some of the shiny finish. I used a paintbrush provided by Country Chic Paint, and the paint went on smoothly. I love the coverage of the paint. DSC_4113 Here is a before photo: It is a beautiful piece of furniture, with nice curves and oval mirror. But honestly, it just stuck out like a sore thumb with all of our white. DSC_0773 After two coats of Simplicity, I used a putty knife to distress all of the edges. Some spots I did a heavy distressing. DSC_4125 And lastly, I used the White Wax to cover the top coat. The wax is slightly white-tinted and worked perfectly for a subtle, smooth finish. Country Chic Paint has step-by-step tutorial videos to watch as a resource before beginning a painting project. DSC_4117 It certainly looks brighter and lighter in our bedroom now! I am so glad I had the opportunity to try Country Chic Paint! If you are considering a painting project to change up your look, I’d suggest trying Country Chic! DSC_4122 Thanks for visiting me here today! Check back in on Monday…where there will be a FUN GIVEAWAY! And…enjoy your MOTHER’S DAY!! Blessings
