A Few of My Favorite Things

Hi there! I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite things… an olive tree, French harvest basket and Anthropologie tassel throw. Olive tree 5 I’ve always wanted an olive tree. And I thought it would look nice in this French harvest basket. Of course, anything looks great in a harvest basket 🙂 Our walls are painted Cotton Fluff by BEHR. And the warm white makes the tree “pop”, don’t you think? Olive tree 2 With some extra Christmas money, I purchased the Anthropologie Temple Bells Throw (which happens to be ON SALE NOW). It has a wonderful texture! And when I’m not snuggled under it on the sofa, I store it on our vintage ladder. It also looks fabulous across the end of our bed. I love whites and raw wood together. Oh, and Jovi B had to jump in and photo bomb! LOL olive tree 1 We sold the hemp linen patchwork pillows at our Barn Sale…I loved them so much, I got a couple for our den. I really like the mixture of different textures. Olive tree 4 I found the wooden vintage ladder at Canton Trade Days a few years ago…it serves as one of our most versatile pieces. I’ve moved it all around our home, and used it for so many different purposes. Olive tree 7 The boots, which came from DSW, were a gift for Christmas from my family. I wear them with everything. I guess the boots are one of my favorites too 🙂 Olive tree 10 I’m hoping the olive tree is easy to keep alive…so far, so good. I’m wondering if after the weather warms up, should I plant it in the yard? Do you have an olive tree? What are some of your favorite things right now? Have a lovely weekend, friends! Blessings

  4. I love your favorites. Even your photo bomber!

I found this on the net on whiteflowerfarm.com:

Zones 8 (10°ree;F) and warmer can grow Olive trees outdoors. Before planting, give your plant a gradual introduction to direct sun and stiff breezes. Set the pot in a sheltered, lightly shaded spot, increasing the exposure to sun and wind each day. Check the potting mix and water thoroughly if it’s dry 1 inch below the surface. At the end of a week, your plant will be ready to go into the ground.

Olive trees may be planted outdoors in Zone 8 or warmer areas. Choose a spot for your Olive that receives full sun (at least 6 hours of direct sun each day) and is protected from drying winds. The soil should be fertile but very well drained.
