Add a Little Character

Hey my friends!
Spring is definitely in the air around our “neck of the woods” πŸ˜‰
I have had that spring fever lately,
you know, to create, fluff the nest, move things around a bit.
However, with homeschool and job deadlines,
it’s hard to get projects done, so I did some simple fluffing.
I found this old door at a local shop of my friend Suzanne’s.
She has some great old, chippy pieces with unique character.

I just couldn’t pass up this door with such a vintage feel.
The patina is fabulous.
With wood and white peeking from under the glorious green.

I so wish I could grow my own hydrangeas.
I’m going to try again this spring.  Until then, I use the “pretend” kind πŸ™‚

If you are new around here, you can check out how
we have used another old door as a headboard in
“Tour Our Farmhouse”, on the sidebar.

Last weekend we had beautiful weather,
and I did get to plant a little herb garden.
Maybe I can share that with you soon.
What about you, any gardening going on around your place?

I’m joining  Good Life Wednesdays with Sarah
and
White Wednesday with Kathleen.
Thanks for hosting each week, ladies πŸ™‚

And thanks to all of you for stopping in to visit.
I appreciate your sweet comments and enjoy being part of your day πŸ˜‰
I hope you have a wonderful week.
Blessings
Becky C

Love your new door Becky, and the way you pulled it all together! I definitely have spring fever too and need to dump my dead plants (thanks to the freezing temps a few weeks back). I'll wait a few more weeks though just to be safe.

Your photos are just gorgeous!!!! I love the old door–it has so much character.

I would love to grow hydrangeas but I fear our weather out here at the edge of town would be too harsh for them. No gardening here for me as we still have snow on the ground and below freezing temps.

Hi Becky, I'm Becky too! Or, you can call me Becca.:-) I found your blog and really love your style. Funny, I just did a post on some of my burlap pieces, and I think that's why your blog name stood out. Also, my post before that was about hydrangeas too, and how I can't grow them in my garden where I live either, so I enjoy the fake ones or the occasional one from the grocery store that my hubby brings home.
I love your blog, and I'm also going to put you on my side bar.
    Enjoy your day πŸ™‚

  48. I wouldn't have been able to pass up that door either!

    Looks great,
    Judy

  49. Cheryl says:

    Hi Becky!
Love your decorating style. I too love hydrangeas and just moved to Louisiana about eight months ago. I am hoping to be able to grow some. I will neeed to check the PH of the soil as well as find some good shady ground. While they do love sun, they don't like a lot of it.

I plan on growing an herb garden as well as a veggie garden. Would love to see what you have decided to plant.
