Dried Flowers

Hey my friends!
I have a new love.
Dried flowers.
All over blogland, everyone uses dried flowers in amazing ways.
Wanting to use some myself, I found beautiful lavender at Laurie Anna’s.
Since then, I’ve been on the lookout for more.
I found packages of dried flowers at Hobby Lobby!
(for half-price 🙂
I’ve been creating little bundles to go here and there.
Adding ribbon, twine, and vintage papers.
I saved the buds which were falling off,
to use for sachets and other possibilities.
Various colors of dried flowers make a pretty contrast grouped together.
I used dried caspia, stardust, and lavender.
Or smaller bundles make a nice focal point.
Working with dried flowers is quite messy, but it’s fun 🙂
(are you checking out the old white, chippy gate above? more on that later…)
I am hoping the sun will come out soon,
and I can show you our den, I’ve finally completed.
Until then, I will be creating with dried flowers and teaching homeschool.
Happy White Wednesday, everyone!
Check out all the lovely whites over there 🙂
Blessings
Becky C

  6. I love how you have arranged the bunches of flowers and the addition of a little burlap, Becky! I have heard if you use a little hairspray on them, they shed less. I never tried it though. I can't wait to hear more about the old gate and I'm looking forward to seeing your den!

  7. Lavender is my absolute
    numero uno
    most loved
    dried flower!
    In the summers when I
    visit my folks in the
    Pacific NW, we always
    go to a lavender farm
and pick it and then dry
    it….Imagine fields of
    lavender with snow-capped
    Mt. Hood in the background….
    heaven! This is the
    perfect time of year to
    use dried flowers, too ~
    gives you a lift : )!!
    xx Suzanne
PS: Loved how you used the
    locker basket in your last
    post for potatoes!

  8. I love dried flowers also. Great pics.
    xx Liz

  11. Very fun! Baby's breath reminds me of being a child. I thought it was so cool (and it was very hip in the 80's and 90's.) I think you are bringing it back! 😉

  12. I love your dried flower bundles, Becky. During the winter, it makes it hard to have fresh flowers, so dried ones are a wonderful way to add some Spring to the house, don't you think? Look forward to hearing more about your cool gate. 🙂
Have a great day! Hope the sun comes out for you… we're not gonna get any for about a week… ugh!
    xo,

Very pretty! I love dried flowers but can't have too many due to curious kitties that like to eat things that they shouldn't. I can live through you and others in blogland. Your little touches are just perfect!

Your dried flowers are great, I can't wait for my lavender to start growing in my back yard this year let's see I have about five months to go.. Sounds like a long time, but I have faith that it will come soon. Love your blog.

  30. Hi Becky, I just popped over from Anne's at Fiona and Twig… I love your blog and am signing on as a new follower!… I have been drying flowers for over twenty five years, since we built our little farmhouse long ago… it's funny, how everything old is new again, and now ladies are starting to create with them once more… I still continue to dry flowers and have many of the old books from way back when about doing so… it is so simple to dry most anything and I too love how they look! Looking forward to reading your older posts, and excited that you are opening a shop soon!… xoxo Julie Marie
