Progress

Another set of cabinets, complete…
Well, just the upper half.
That’s why you will only see the top in these photos.
I’m so impatient.
I had several questions/comments about how I did this cabinet makeover.
Yes, these are oak cabinets.
I sanded each door lightly.
Then I added three coats of white paint. Just basic white paint from WalMart.
Then I sanded the edges for a distressed finish.
I am planning to slap on a quick coat of sealer.
Another extra fence board, which I used for a pot hanger,
using the same stencil as my “fresh eggs” sign.
(See my previous post)
To all those out there who doubt painting the cabinets,
I say GO FOR IT!
This was one of the few projects I tackled on my own
(without my sweet hubbys help).
Oh, I should say I cheated a little…
and didn’t paint the insides of the doors 😉
I still have a whole lot more to finish.
So, keep checking in!
Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
I’m off to LaurieAnna’s in Canton!!!!
I promised my hubby I would take him
LOL
I’m sharing with these terrific ladies…
Blessings,
Becky C

Just found your blog and love your vintage, chippy style…. I painted/glazed my kitchen cabinets about 9 years ago. They are due for a new color now. Either that or I need a total reno! LOL Mine took about 7 coats of paint/glaze/finish and came out looking like an old French kitchen, but now I want a new look.
Your new white cabinetry is so clean and fresh looking and befits your style so well. I LOVE your scale and your bottle holder. I have seen reproduction holders in catalogs, but even they cost an arm and a leg. I guess I will just dream… hope you'll come by for a visit sometime. glad to have found ya! 🙂 Sue
